Meru is a brand concept for a prestige haircare collection handcrafted from organic, fair-trade marula oil sourced from a women’s cooperative in South Africa—rooted in sustainability, heritage, and high-performance beauty.
The process began with logo exploration—I wanted Meru to speak for itself, like a work of art. Next came packaging: amber glass bottles to protect the oil from light and heat, recyclable aluminum tubes, and embossed textured paper labels. I brought it all together with a monochromatic visual language—blurred imagery, minimal lighting—that feels intimate and personal. Designed to launch digitally on Instagram with video and animation rather than traditional print, the brand reinforces its commitment to less waste and a smaller footprint.
